Climbing has chosen its technical officials

Paris 2024

An additional sport for the second consecutive time, before joining the Olympic program more permanently from Los Angeles 2028, climbing has ticked a new box on its roadmap for the Paris 2024 Games. Its international body, the IFSC , has appointed its technical officials for the Olympic competitions, scheduled for August 5 to 10 at Le Bourget. The list includes 17 names, representing four continents. Gender parity still seems far away, with only a small quarter of female officials (24%). But they were only 7% at the Tokyo 2020 Games. Poland and the United States will be the two countries most represented, with three officials. France, the host country, will have two. The IFSC team will be led by Piero Rebaudengo, an Olympian and secretary general of the body, and Hazel Han, the federation's head of sports operations.
