Change of scenery for the track cycling world championships in 2025. The first edition of the global meeting of the next Olympiad, initially attributed to the Argentine city of San Juan, will finally take place in Santiago, Chile. The International Cycling Union (UCI) announced this on Wednesday April 24, but without specifying the reason for this change of city and country. Argentina had been chosen as the host country in 2022. It was to become the first South American country to host the track world championships since the 2014 edition in Colombia. Instead, Chile will host them for the first time, from October 15 to 19 at the Velodromo Penalolen. The next edition will take place at the end of this year in Ballerup, Denmark. After Chile, the world championships will be held in 2026 in Shanghai, China.
