Jeux Olympiques

Instructive. The American magazine Varietypublished last week a long investigationon how the group NBCUniversalplanned to cover the Paris 2024 Games, for which it has exclusive rights in the United States. It is accompanied by a table detailing public interest in the Summer Olympics, compared to other major sporting events, in eight countries around the world: United States, Mexico, France, Germany, Great Britain, Spain , Italy and China. Less than 100 days before the opening of the Paris 2024 Games, the Olympic event comes first in only two nations: France, where it is tied with the Football World Cup (84%), and the China (88%). In the United States, the Summer Games (66%) are behind the NFL (85%) and the MLB (72%). In Germany, they come only in fifth position, behind four football competitions, the Bundesliga, the World Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League. Same position in Spain, where the Summer Games are preceded by La Liga, the Champions League, the World Cup and the Europa League. The survey was carried out by the Cawi institute among a sample of 2.500 consumers.
