Things are moving in international athletics. They even move at very high speed. Michael Johnson is not the only one who wants to give a facelift to the international calendar. Another project, less ambitious than his professional league, but very innovative, was announced at the beginning of the week in New York during the Business of Women's Sports conference. Its name: 776 Invitational. Imagined by the American Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of the community site Reddit, it is presented as a new one-day competition, the first edition of which is scheduled for September. The concept: an exclusively female meeting. Unsurprisingly, the prize money will be generous – a constant in American initiatives – with bonuses of 60.000, 25.000 and 10.000 dollars for the first three athletes in each of the program's disciplines.
