The Paris 2024 Volunteer Convention brought together 40 volunteers in a festive atmosphere!

Communiqué

Saturday, March 23, the Volunteer Convention was held, kicking off a unique behind-the-scenes experience of the largest event in the world for the 45 selected volunteers. It was at Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, the future competition site for the Paris 000 Games, that the volunteers were able to experience this festive day discovering the Games and discover their uniform, designed with DECATHLON, Official partner of the Paris Games 2024.

Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024, accompanied by ambassadors of the volunteer program, Jo Di Bona, artist, Anouk Garnier, sports and mental coach, Guillaume Gille, coach of the French men's handball team and Manon Fleury, chef star and former high-level fencer, and speakers from Paris 2024 punctuated the Volunteers' Convention to present the ambition of the Games to volunteers from all over France.

At the end of the show where they were able to discover the medals, the torch, the program of celebrations in France, meet the phryges, Paris 2024 and its partner DECATHLON lifted the veil on an essential symbol of the Games: the volunteers' uniform .

One team, one uniform!

The design of the volunteers' uniform is the result of collaborative work with the teams of our partner DECATHLON. It took more than a year to imagine and design each piece of this unisex uniform which will respond to all missions, all situations, all weather conditions as well as all body types.

Comfortable and functional, each volunteer's outfit is made up of 15 pieces including the swimsuit which refers to an iconic French piece: the sailor top.
The uniform is an essential element for volunteers which will allow them to be identifiable by all those involved in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, from spectators to accredited participants.

The convention is a starting point for the adventure of the Games. In the coming weeks, the volunteers will begin their online training, before collecting their accreditations and their uniform in May, and discovering the site to which they will be assigned from July.

« All day long, alongside the Paris 2024 teams, the project ambassadors, and with this large gathering of volunteers, we felt and shared the energy of the Games. The calendar is accelerating: on April 17, there will only be 100 days left before the Games, 100 days to prepare to welcome the world. At the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, which will host the swimming, Para swimming and water polo competitions this summer, we today kicked off a unique and unforgettable experience. We are proud to welcomethe 45.000 volunteers in the big Paris 2024 team! » Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024.

“Designing the outfit for the 45000 volunteers for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is a source of great pride for DECATHLON, because they are passionate women and men who, like us, provide access to sport and allow everyone to fully experience this planetary event. Through a range of eco-designed clothing that is both trendy and functional and displays our new visual identity, we will be keen to share our expertise and our passion for sport with millions of people around the world. » Barbara Martin Coppola, General Director of DECATHLON.
