Montreal disappears from the calendar

Triathlon

Complicated season for triathlon. After Dubai in March, a second stage of the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) in turn disappears from the calendar. The international body announces the cancellation of one of the essential events on the circuit, the Montreal event. Planned on September 14 and 15, 2024, it is removed from the calendar, a decision taken by World Triathlon after consultation with local organizers and the Canadian federation. The Montreal stage has been one of the regular meetings of the Series since 2017. Consequence: the World Cup in Wehai, China, scheduled for September 27, moves up a notch and joins the WTCS. The World Triathlon Championship Series competitions are now reduced to only for events this year, respectively organized in Yokohama, Cagliari, Hamburg and Weihai.
