Basketball

No change in sight at FIBA on the Russian and Belarusian question. To finally decide to extend the current status of the national federations of Russia and Belarus until its next meeting, scheduled for December 2024. The national teams of the two countries will therefore remain excluded from international competitions until the end of the Olympic year . The FIBA Central board also discussed at length the preparation of the Paris 2024 Games, but without identifying new points of tension with the organizing committee. As a reminder, the draw for two Olympic tournaments, men's and women's, recently took place at FIBA headquarters. Among the women, the twelve qualified teams are known. For men, on the other hand, the last tickets will be allocated at the end of the Olympic qualifying tournaments, scheduled for July 2 to 7 in Greece, Latvia, Puerto Rico and Spain.
