Less than 80 days before the Paris 2024 Games, Russia has crossed two new names from its list of potential qualifiers for the Olympic events. Two specialists in canoe-kayak sprint, supposed to try their luck last week in Hungary during the qualifying regattas. Mikhail Pavlov (photo above), 37, entered in the C2 500m with his teammate Zakhar Petrov, was disqualified by the International Canoe Federation (ICF) before the competition even started. Yevgeny Arkhipov, the president of the Russian Canoe-Kayak Federation, explained this to the agency TASS: " A few days before leaving for Hungary, Mikhail Pavlov had his eligibility withdrawn. The canoe double was urgently replaced by another crew, made up of Alexey Korovashkov and Ivan Shtyl. »The Russian federation specified that it had appealed, but without result, the final decision belonging to the international body.
