Return to North America for the Alpine Skiing World Cup finals. The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has unveiled the provisional calendar for the 2024-25 edition of Cirque Blanc. It plans to organize the finals in the American resort of Sun Valley, Idaho. It hosted giants and slaloms of the Alpine Skiing World Cup in 1975 and 1977, before disappearing from the scene. The finals are scheduled for March 22 to 27, 2025. The United States has not organized the final races of the circuit since 2017, when the event took place in Aspen, Colorado. In a completely different register, the FIS announced the implementation for next season of two new features intended to improve the safety of skiers: the compulsory wearing of an airbag in downhill and super-G, and the use, recommended but not yet mandatory (it could become so from the following season), cut-resistant underwear in all disciplines and at all levels of competition.
