No surprise: the 2029 edition of the World Games will take place in Karlsruhe. Chosen as the sole candidate by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), the city in southwest Germany, located not far from the French border, was nominated by delegates at the Association's general assembly International of the World Games (IWGA), Wednesday May 1, on a proposal from the executive committee. Karlsruhe will become the first city to host the multi-sport event twice, having hosted the third edition in 1989. Germany also hosted the World Games in 2005 in Duisburg. Before Karlsruhe 2029, the World Games will be held next year in Chengdu, China.
