Hotel prices plummeting

Paris 2024

Predictable. According to data from the specialist firm Lighthouse, revealed by the British site Independent, hotel prices in Paris and its immediate suburbs are falling sharply for the period of the Games, after having reached peaks. Last September, a night in a hotel room was sold for an average of 800 euros. It is now priced at less than 500 euros. Over the past 30 days, three-star hotel rates have decreased by 9%. Four-star hotels fell 8% during the same period. Less than 100 days before opening, the occupancy rate remains stable at around 50%. Hoteliers expect a range of 60-70% during the Olympics period. Still according to Lighthouse, hotel rates in intramural Paris remain 95% higher during the Games than last year at the same period. The most expensive date? The night of August 4 to 5, during the middle weekend of the Games, where a room in a five-star hotel reached an average of 1.566 euros.
