Months pass, but nothing happens. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) confirmed this to the agency TASS : Russia has still not paid its contribution for the year 2023. It amounts to a little less than 1,3 million dollars. The Russian Minister of Sports, Oleg Matytsin, nevertheless assured the same agency last February TASS that the contribution for the year 2023 would be honored, despite Russia's suspension from the Olympic movement. He then clarified that the amount of the contribution was under discussion with WADA, with Russia believing that it should pay less since its exclusion in March 2022 from the Council of Europe. But to date, the money has still not arrived in the coffers. Earlier this year, the Montreal-based agency said that Russia would also have to pay its contribution for the year 2024, the amount of which was set at $1,335 million.
