There is no longer any doubt: Russia will organize the Friendship Games next September in Moscow and Yekaterinburg. The last obstacle was removed with the signing by Vladimir Putin of the decree relating to the preparation and holding of the multisport event. In particular, it defines the role and powers of the organizations involved in the Games, including the International Friendship Association (IAA) and the organizing committee. Funding will be provided by national, regional and local grants, as well as gambling taxes. The law also authorizes organizers to distribute cash bonuses to winners and medalists. They can be paid in cryptocurrency. Finally, it specifies the rules regarding marketing, advertising on competition sites and free use of public transport.
