Seine-Saint-Denis will distribute 180.000 tickets

Paris 2024

Generous, Seine-Saint-Denis. The Ile-de-France department, which notably houses the athletes' village, the Stade de France and the Olympic Aquatic Center, will distribute 180.000 free tickets to its residents for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Of the lot, around 28.000 will concern the opening ceremony on the Seine, where 220.000 places on the high quays will have free access, but by invitation. The department explains it in a press release: this large contingent of tickets will allow “ one in ten residents benefit from this opportunity”, Seine-Saint-Denis having a population of 1,65 million people. Among the beneficiaries, students from primary to high school (17.000 places), members of the sports movement, the elderly, those with disabilities, people removed from employment, children and families supported by social services. Places will also go to associations and populations directly involved or impacted by the Games. All these tickets come from the State allocation, the COJO Paris 2024 and the Ile-de-France region. But the department of Seine-Saint-Denis also bought 40.000, spending more than a million euros for it.
