The ceremony of the draw was held at the COJO headquarters in Saint-Denis, in the presence of Tony Estanguet, the president of Paris 2024, and Arsène Wenger, the director of football at FIFA. For the men, where all the qualified countries are not yet known, France was placed in group A, with the United States, New Zealand and the winner of the Africa-Asia play-off. Group B will bring together Argentina, Morocco, Ukraine and an Asian team that has not yet qualified. Spain, Egypt, the Dominican Republic and another Asian selection not yet qualified will find themselves in Pool C. Finally, Pool D will pit Paraguay, Mali, Israel and another Asian team to be determined. The group stage runs from July 24 to 30 for the men's tournament. It will take place in seven cities: Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Nantes, Bordeaux and Saint-Étienne. In the women's category, where the Olympic tournament will have 12 teams, the situation is clearer, since 10 qualified countries are already known. France inherited, in Pool A, Colombia, Canada and New Zealand. Spain, the reigning world champion, will have a lot to do in Pool B with Brazil, Japan and an African team that has not yet qualified. Finally, Pool C also promises to be very tough, with the United States, Germany, Australia and an African team that has not yet qualified. The group stage will begin on July 25, the day before the opening ceremony, and end on July 31. The matches will take place in the same seven cities as the men's competition.
