The secretaries general of the African NOCs met at the end of September in Maputo for the seminar organized by ANOCAThe objective: to take stock of the past cycle and define the next directions. ANOCA welcomed the fact that 90% of the objectives of the 2021-2025 strategic plan had been achieved. A number of recommendations were also made to the NOCs: develop strategic plans supplemented by monitoring and evaluation tools ; sign the United Nations Convention on Climate Change; invest in learning how to use artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and athlete support mechanisms; or to nominate a candidate for the AI certification program offered by Zedny in collaboration with ANOCA.
The prospect of Los Angeles 2028 is already on everyone's mind, as evidenced by the speech of ANOCA Treasurer General, Habu Gumel: " For African sport, LA28 is not only another competitive stage, but also an opportunity to demonstrate the continuity, growth and consistency of our performanceOur athletes will arrive in Los Angeles buoyed by the pride of Paris and the energy of Dakar. From now on, we must prepare our teams, our structures and our strategies, in order to that Africa capitalizes on the lessons of the present to achieve even greater successes tomorrow. LA28 must be a stage where Africa's progress is undeniable and where our continent asserts itself as a true force in world sport. »
