Meeting in Australia, the World Curling Congress made several significant decisions. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group was formally transformed into a commission, as was the working group on durability. A way to give even more weight to these subjects.
The members also abolished the election of vice-presidents: it will now be up to the board of directors to appoint the two people who will assume this role. nominations committee has been strengthened: it will be able to issue stronger recommendations regarding the best candidates for vacant positions on the board of directors. federations of Iran and Monaco were promoted to the status of provisional members.
The fifteenth World Curling Congress will take place in Bratislava from September 3 to 6, 2026. It will in particular allow the election of the president of the body to take place.
