Since 2010, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) has organized the Sentez-Vous Sport (SVS) sports season every year in September: a national operation to promote sport for all, throughout the country.
After a historic summer for French sport, the 15th edition of Sentez-Vous Sport is taking place throughout the month of September, through several thousand SVS-labeled events. Activities, demonstrations, conferences for the general public, schools, businesses and even sports time in penitentiary establishments have been offered since the beginning of the month. During open house operations, federations and their leagues also welcome, free of charge, people of all ages and levels to discover or even learn new disciplines.
It should also be noted that the CNOSF, leader of the national sports movement, is engaging the Sentez-Vous Sport operation in a European approach as national coordinator of the 10th edition of the European Week of Sport, called "#BeActive". Organized under the aegis of the European Commission from September 23 to 30, this major campaign encourages all Europeans to practice regular activity and do more exercise on a daily basis.
As part of Sentez-Vous Sport, the collaboration between the CNOSF and the Prison Administration continues this year. Indeed, since August 28 and until October 4, 2024, 49 projects funded by the Prison Administration have offered a prison population far removed from daily practice access to physical activities. These projects contribute to the mix between minors and adults, the mix between prison staff and inmates, by offering sporting events inside and outside the establishments.
The mechanism for this unprecedented collaboration will be detailed, Thursday September 26 from 14:00 p.m. au Paris-La Santé Penitentiary Center (Paris 14th)By Betty Charlier, vice-president of the CNOSF in charge of Health and Sport for All within the framework of major national causes. Workshops blind football will also be organized in the presence of Bruno Clement-Petremann, director of the establishment.
As a reminder, the purpose of this agreement aims to implement various actions:
- The development of public sports policies for people under the supervision of the justice system (PPSMJ), in particular so-called specific groups (women, minors, sedentary, elderly or disabled people);
- Strengthening links between the decentralized services of the Prison Administration, the CROS/CDOS/CTOS and the member federations of the CNOSF;
- The establishment and organization of calls for projects and joint national events;
- The promotion of the role of sports supervisor and participation in the development of skills among prison staff, particularly in terms of managing sports projects.
