Montreal, December 17, 2024
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to announce the eight members who have been elected to Group 2i of the WADA Athlete Council for 2025-2027. The election was held virtually via an online voting platform between 10 and 12 December 2024 and was restricted to athlete commissions of registered international federations deemed eligible to vote. A total of 55 of the 60 athlete commissions of international federations voted (91,7% turnout).
“On behalf of WADA, I would like to congratulate the eight athletes who have been elected to the Agency’s Athlete Council Group 2 for 2025-2027,” said WADA President Witold Bańka. “I am confident that these eight members, both returning and newly elected, will use their passion for clean sport and commitment to amplifying the voice of athletes to ensure that WADA remains athlete-centric. I look forward to meeting the new members and continuing our collaborative work with the Athlete Council.”

We look forward to working with all of you over the next three years and to further strengthening the collaborative relationship between the Athlete Council and WADA’s Athlete Engagement team. We are entering 2025 with an exciting Athlete Council Action Plan and a solid foundation of athlete-focused initiatives that will allow us to advance existing projects and launch new ones.”
“To those who were not elected, we would also like to thank you for your strong interest in clean sport and the work of the Athlete Council. We encourage you to continue to be a strong advocate for athletes and to consider joining the Athlete Council next year through the Group 3 nomination process. Finally, we would also like to express our deepest gratitude to our outgoing members, Clare Egan, Kristen Kit and Alessia Zecchini. Your contributions to the Athlete Council and other WADA projects and committees have been invaluable and we thank you again for your commitment to clean sport.”
