As part of an initiative to improve its communications with athletes, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to release a message from WADA's Head of Athlete Engagement, Karine Henrie.
In this message, Karine introduces herself, outlines her commitments to the sports community, looks back on the achievements of 2024 so far and reviews what sports people can expect from the mobilization team for the remainder of year, addressing initiatives related to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the process of updating the International Code and Standards and the Athletes' Council elections, which will take place later in the year.
“Working with athletes, my WADA colleagues and the anti-doping community to make a difference for athletes is a responsibility I do not take lightly. At this point, my commitments to the sports community are as follows:
- listen to the voice of all athletes in matters of anti-doping,
- learn from as many experiences as possible by athletes; And
- do my best to be a champion of clean sport for athletes inside and outside of WADA.
You can find the full message on our website.
A special request to anti-doping organizations around the world
As WADA has limited direct access to athletes, we would appreciate it if you could convey this message to your athlete communities through your communications channels.
