AMA seeks hosts for Foundation Board and Executive Committee meetings

Communiqué

Montreal, March 12, 2025

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is calling for organizations, cities and countries interested in hosting the meetings of the Foundation Board and Executive Committee of the Agency in 2026 and 2027.

La governance structure WADA's governing body comprises a 42-member Foundation Board, which is the Agency's highest decision-making body, and a 16-member Executive Committee, to which the Foundation Board delegates the management and operation of the Agency. The Foundation Board is composed equally of representatives from the sports movement and public authorities. A number of seats are also allocated to representatives of athletes and national anti-doping organizations. The Executive Committee is also composed of representatives from the sports movement and public authorities, and additionally has five independent members, including the Chair and Vice-Chair.

Similar to its call published in 2023 (for the 2024 and 2025 meetings), WADA is also seeking expressions of interest from potential hosts of its main governance meetings in 2026 and 2027, listed below:

2026

  • Executive Committee Meeting (March) : One-day meeting of the members of the Executive Committee, approximately 50 to 60 participants.
  • Executive Committee Meeting (September) : Same.
  • Executive Committee Meeting and Foundation Board Meeting (mid-late November) : Two one-day meetings. The 16 members of the Executive Committee will meet on the first day, and the 42 members of the Foundation Board will meet on the second day. Approximately 50 to 60 people and 120 people will attend these meetings, respectively.
  • Please note that all Foundation Board meetings are also open to observers from the anti-doping community and members of the media. Pre-registration with WADA is required for these observers, and their participation must be approved in advance by the Agency, based on venue availability.

  • Executive Committee Meeting (March) : Same.
  • Executive Committee Meeting (September) : Same.
  • Executive Committee Meeting and Foundation Board Meeting (mid-late November) : Same.

Accommodation requirements

Stakeholders interested in hosting any of the above-mentioned meeting editions are requested to contact events@wada-ama.org. Upon receipt, AMA will provide potential hosts with a detailed list of meeting specifications required to guide them should they decide to submit a formal offer.

Interested parties will be required to provide: a meeting venue suitable for high-level governance meetings; accommodation for WADA members; and logistical arrangements such as audiovisual and technical facilities, catering, transportation, security, visa issuance, etc.

Submission period

WADA aims to designate the hosts for its 2026 and 2027 meetings as early as possible, ideally before the end of June 2025, and encourages interested stakeholders to contact WADA before the 31 May 2025.

If the specific 2026 or 2027 meeting dates listed above are not feasible for potential hosts, the AMA will continue to welcome expressions of interest at any time and will maintain a register of interested hosts for other future opportunities.
