Just over 100 days before the Paris 2024 Games (D – 102), and less than two months before the 2024 Euro football tournament (June 14 to July 14), the IOC and UEFA are making common cause to fight against rigged bets. The two bodies organized last week in Lausanne, at the Olympic House, a one-day workshop dedicated to the integrity of sports betting during the two events (photo above). It was intended in particular for international federations. Objective: to pool the means of combating fraud and learn better from each other. In 2017, the IOC set up a “ unity of the Olympic movement on the prevention of manipulation of competitions ». It monitors sports betting during the Olympics 24/24 via the Betting and Integrity Information System (IBIS). UEFA, for its part, relies on the work and expertise of its anti-match-fixing unit.
