France Télévisions strikes a double blow

Paris 2024

The information is revealed by Le Parisien : the public audiovisual group France Télévisions has won the broadcast rights for the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024 (August 28 to September 8). Unlike the Olympic Games, the rights to the Paralympic event were not marketed by the American group Discovery, which notably owns the channel Eurosport, but directly by the organizing committee. A call for tenders was launched last October. In addition to the rights to the Paralympic Games, it provided support for the French team, via a series of reports and magazines before the event. France Télévisions won the prize, as for the rights to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The amount of the contract was not revealed, but it was signed on Monday January 17 at the COJO headquarters in Saint-Denis. Always according to Le Parisien, the audiovisual group will offer 24-hour coverage, including around 24 hours of live broadcast France 2 ou France 3. Coverage will be enhanced with recaps, replays and talk show broadcasts.
