Europe takes everything

Handball

Little suspense, Tuesday April 16, for the attribution by the International Handball Federation (IHF) of the men's and women's world championships in 2029 and 2031. Meeting at the headquarters of the French federation, before the draw for the two Olympic tournaments , the Council of the instance did not really have to choose, since four files were in the running for these four competitions. On the men's side, the ticket made up of France and Germany (photo above) obtained the organization of the world championships in 2029. The opening match and the final four will take place in Paris. Two other host cities in France, and three in Germany, will be announced later. They will host the preliminary phases and the quarter-finals. France has already organized the Men's World Championships three times (1970, 2001 and 2017). For Germany, the 2029 edition will be the tenth to be held on its soil. The 2031 world championships have been awarded to a trio of Nordic countries consisting of Denmark, Iceland and Norway. Among the women, two files were in the running. Spain, the only candidate, was unanimously designated to host the world tournament in 2029. Two years later, the women's world championships will take place in Poland and the Czech Republic.
