The Pakistan Alpine Ski Team has qualified for the second time in its history for the Winter Olympics, the Pakistan Ski Federation announced on Monday April 8. A ticket to Sochi won by the three skiers in the selection, Mir Nawaz, Mohammad Karim and Mohammad Abbas, following their results in FIS races in Italy, Turkey and Lebanon. “This is a big boost for the sport,” the Pakistan Federation is assured, adding that only one skier will be able to make it to the 2014 Games. The popularity of alpine skiing is only growing in the Pakistan, where a national championship is even organized in the Karakoram mountains, in the north of the country.
