The IBA sets up a professional boxing committee

Boxing

The Olympic movement turns its back on it, without giving it the slightest hope of redemption, but the International Boxing Federation (IBA) continues to move forward. It does it with one foot in the amateur world and another in the professional world. The body announces the upcoming creation of its first professional boxing committee, a new entity composed of a minimum of seven members, including at least one active or former boxer, a trainer who has passed through the amateur and professional ranks, a technical delegate also having known both worlds, and a promoter of fights. The committee's role will include supporting the IBA Champions Night program, and supervising and designing the technical and competition rules. The IBA has officially launched the call for applications to join the professional boxing committee. Deadline to apply: April 26, 2024.
