The athletics events at the European Games were of a modest standard in Baku, but they attracted a very respectable number of spectators to the Olympic stadium. Over the two days of competition, 41.500 people attended the events of the 3rd division of the European team championships. An attendance which places Baku at the top of the four divisions of the European competition in terms of spectators.
