It was predictable: the athletics events at the European Games in Baku met with very relative success. On the first day of the competitions, Sunday June 21, only 22.500 spectators went to the Olympic stadium. An attendance well below the capacity of the venue, but nevertheless very decent considering the level of the competition. In Baku, the European Games only hosted the 3rd division of the European team championships.
