(ATR) This week commemorations in Lake Placid, New York will mark 40 year since the 1980 Olympic Winter Games.
These second Olympics in this hamlet close to the border with Canada were among the last of the era of the “small” winter Olympics with 1072 athletes. Almost three times that number competed in 2018 at PyeongChang.
