The race to host the 2030 Youth Olympic Games is taking shape. On Wednesday, the IOC Executive Board officially invited Asunción (Paraguay), Bangkok (Thailand) and Santiago (Chile) to participate in a targeted dialogue. The IOC will now begin further discussions with each one. The winner will be known during the year 2026.
« We have been very impressed by the potential of these three projects to organize spectacular and sustainable Youth Olympic Games, commented Danka Hrbeková, chair of the IOC working group on the YOG. All three offer recent experience in the organization of international multi-sport eventsoffer exclusive use of existing or temporary competition venues, and benefit from full political support and share a common vision that the YOG can contribute to a better and more active future for the youth of their country. »
