World Boxing is picking up the pace again. The new international body for Olympic boxing, a direct rival to the IBA, has announced that it has signed a four-year agreement with the International Testing Agency (ITA). As of October 1, 2024, World Boxing's anti-doping program is now entrusted in its entirety to the ITA. The agreement also provides for independent results management for any potential anti-doping rule violations. The monitoring of athlete biological passports (ABPs) and the processing of therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs) are also delegated to the ITA. Finally, the contract signed between the two parties provides for long-term storage of samples, for reanalysis of some for a period of up to ten years from the date of collection. Created in April 2023, World Boxing currently has 44 national member federations. The body is in a race to obtain IOC recognition, ideally before the end of the first half of 2025.
