A major sponsor for the World Relay ChampionshipsThe diamond-producing company Debswana has pledged one million euros to partner with the World Athletics event, which will take place in Gaborone (Botswana) on May 2nd and 3rd. Some 1.500 athletes and officials are expected to be on site for the event, which will be broadcast in 130 countries.
Athletics enjoys immense exposure in Botswana thanks to recent results, particularly at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with Letsile Tebogo's victory in the 200 meters and the silver medal in the 4x400 meter relay. Which certainly makes it easier for sponsors to invest.
