UEFA has unveiled the list of candidate cities to host the 2027 Champions League final. A sign of the times: there are more candidates for the women's match than for the men's match. In the men's event, the decision will be between Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and Madrid, where the final would be held at the Metropolitano stadium, the home of Atletico Madrid. Two candidates, therefore, not one more. In the women's event, however, UEFA will be spoiled for choice, with four candidates: Warsaw (Poland) and the National Stadium, Barcelona (Spain) and the Camp Nou, Basel (Switzerland) and St Jakob Park, and finally Cardiff (Wales) and the National Stadium of Wales. The candidate cities have until March 2025 to prepare their final proposals. The decision will be announced by UEFA next May.
