The draw for the Club World Cup in Morocco (December 11-21), which is to be held on Wednesday October 9 in Marrakech, will determine the oppositions between continental champions, those of Europe (Bayern Munich) and South America (Atletico Mineiro) debuting in the semi-finals. The format of the tournament is still atypical, since it pits seven clubs against each other, according to a precise order of entry into the running. For now, five of them are already known. Bayern Munich, Atletico Mineiro (Brazil), the Mexican team of Monterrey (North America), the New Zealanders of Auckland City FC (Oceania) and Raja Casablanca, champion of Morocco and as such representative of host country. The representative of the Africa zone will be the winner of the CAF Champions League, the final of which will be played in two-legged matches (November 2-3 and November 9-10). The representative of the Asia zone will be either FC Seoul (South Korea) or Guangzhou Evergrande (China), coached by Marcello Lippi, who meet in the final of the Asian C1 in two-way matches (October 25/26 and 8/ November 9). Bayern Munich, big favorite of the event, and their announced rival Atletico Mineiro will compete in the semi-finals.
