Vaires-sur-Marne will have a World Cup

Meeting last weekend in London, the executive council of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) distributed a long series of its world events, in ten of its disciplines. They were awarded to eight different countries. At the top of the list, the marathon world championships in 2028, the organization of which was entrusted to the Spanish town of Banyoles, and the canoe-kayak sprint junior and under 23 world championships, also in 2028, won by Montemor-o-Velho, in Portugal. For these two global events, the ICF received three application files. The ICF also lifted the veil on the slalom World Cup in 2026, the stages of which will take place in Vaires-sur-Marne in France, site of the Olympic competitions at the Paris 2024, Augsburg in Germany, La Seu in Spain , Prague in the Czech Republic, and finally Tacen in Slovenia. For the sprint, the 2026 World Cup will stop in Brandenburg in Germany, Bratislava in Slovakia, and Szeged in Hungary.
