We thought it was over, but the Kamila Valieva saga continues. The agency TASS reports that the young Russian skater, at the heart of a highly publicized doping case at the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, has filed a new appeal with the Swiss Federal Court. It concerns her four-year disqualification for doping, until December 24, 2025, imposed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Kamila Valieva has already filed an appeal with the Swiss Federal Court, but it was rejected last October. Against all expectations, she has chosen to insist, even though she only has one year left of her suspension from competition. As a reminder, the medals from the team event in figure skating at the Beijing 2022 Games, redistributed after Kamila Valieva's disqualification, were awarded by the IOC to two of the medal-winning countries, the United States and Japan, on the occasion of the Paris 2024 Games.
