The Turkish leader, president of the International Archery Federation (World Archery) and member of the IOC, was elected Monday, November 13 as president of SportAccord. He succeeds the Italian Ivo Ferriani, president of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF). A doctor by training, who joined the IOC in 2008, Uğur Erdener was unanimously designated by the members of the SportAccord executive committee. He thus adds a new hat to his solid collection of mandates in the Olympic movement: president of the IOC Medical and Scientific Commission, member of the executive committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and of the Agency's board of directors. of International Control (ITA), vice-president of ASOIF, president of the Turkish National Olympic Committee. Elected for four years, he will lead SportAccord surrounded by a new executive committee, made up of the Belgian Ingmar De Vos (International Equestrian Federation), the Swedish Petra Sörling (International Table Tennis Federation), the Latvian Einars Fogelis (International Luge Federation ), the American Beau Welling (World Curling Federation), the Russian-Serbian Anna Arzhanova (World Underwater Confederation), the Italian Riccardo Fraccari (World Baseball and Softball Confederation), and the German Stephan Fox (Federation international muay thai).
