Tennis

Will the future of tennis be Chinese? The agency Xinhua reports that two Chinese players have made it into the men's top 50 this week, a first since the world rankings were created. Shang Juncheng (pictured above), 19, has entered the top 50 for the first time in his young professional career. He is ranked 49th in the ATP rankings published Monday, October 14. His compatriot Zhang Zhizhen appears at 46th place. On the women's side, five Chinese players are in the world's top 100, including Zheng Qinwen, 22, the Olympic singles champion at the 2024 Paris Games, ranked 7th.
