Twenty-three candidates for the athletes' commission

Rowing

The International Rowing Federation (World Rowing) revealed the list of candidate rowers to its Athletes' Commission. It will be the first in history whose members will have been elected by their peers. The election will take place during the next World Rowing Championships, scheduled this year in Racice, Czech Republic, then during the Coastal Rowing World Championships, organized in Saundersfoot, Great Britain. Twenty-three candidates were registered by World Rowing (10 women and 13 men), including Canadian Julien Bahain, bronze medalist at the 2008 Beijing Games with the French quadruple sculls. The Athletes' Commission will be made up of ten members, including six representing Olympic rowing, two representing para-rowing, and two others representing coastal rowing. Five members will be elected by the rowers present at the 2022 Worlds, the other five being appointed by the Council of the instance.
