The days pass and the Paris 2024 Games continue to loom large. The IOC announced on Sunday August 4 that Friday's swimming session at the Paris La Défense Arena, marked by the double performance of Frenchman Léon Marchand (200m breaststroke/200m butterfly), had enabled France Télévisions to beat its audience record three times for the Paris 2024 Games. The evening reached a peak of 13,15 million viewers at the time of the medal ceremony, the highest since the Athens 2004 Games . In the United States, the group NBCUniversal also recorded very positive results, with an average of 32,4 million people over the first eight days of the Games, an audience up 74% compared to the Tokyo 2020 Games. The COJO Paris 2024 announced for its part that more than 500.000 people gathered on Saturday August 3 along the route of the men's cycling road race (photo above).
