Triathlon in one day

Paris 2024

The quality of the waters of the Seine continues to disrupt the program, at the Paralympic Games as earlier at the Olympic Games. It was thus decided on Thursday August 29, at the end of a meeting held in the morning between representatives of World Triathlon, Paris 2024 and the French authorities, to change the order of the races. All events of the Paralympic triathlon are now scheduled for Sunday September 1. The races initially scheduled for Monday September 2 are brought forward by one day. This decision follows the " uncertainties in the coming days regarding the weather forecasts provided by Météo France, which could have an impact on the conditions of the Seine", states a press release. In the new version of the program, no fewer than 11 triathlon events will follow one another during the day on Sunday, with staggered starts between 8:15 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. The swimming course remains unchanged. As for the contingency days, they are now placed on Monday, September 2 and Tuesday, September 3.
