The Paris 2024 Games are over for rowing, but World Rowing is not taking a break. The body announces that it is already turning towards another planetary event. For the first time since 2016, the senior world championships for non-Olympic and non-Paralympic boats, under 23 and under 19, are grouped into the same competition. It will take place from August 18 to 25 in St Catharines, Canada. A total of 1183 athletes will compete on the historic Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Course, which is hosting a global rowing competition for the first time since the World Rowing Championships in 1999. Several of the medalists from the Paris 2024 Games have chosen to extend the pleasure by seeking a world title in a non-Olympic category. At the top of the list, Irishman Paul O'Donovan, double gold medalist at the Games in the lightweight double sculls, entered in the single scull in the same weight category.
