The government is taking matters into its own hands in Russia in the doping scandal that has rocked national athletics since last summer. According to the agency Tass, the political authorities gave the Russian Ministry of Sports three months to take charge of the reorganization and operation of the national anti-doping agency (RUSADA). With the clearly stated objective of transforming it into an independent body with authority to conduct anti-doping policy in Russia but also beyond its borders.
