No time to waste. Chosen by World Rugby to host the men's World Cup in 2031, then the women's two years later, the United States is preparing. The national federation (USA Rugby), the professional league (Major League Rugby – MLR) and the international body have joined forces within the framework of a partnership called “ strategic” to launch a new MLR club. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, it was named Anthem Rugby Carolina. The new club will immediately enter the 2024 season. It will play its home matches at Legion Memorial Stadium. MLR and USA Rugby have previously collaborated to support the USA Hawks, an initiative designed to help young American players and rugby hopefuls find their way to the highest level. Anthem RC is presented as a new step in the progression of 15-a-side rugby in the United States. Next goal: qualification of the men’s team for the 2027 World Cup in Australia.
