The end of 2022 promises to be very political at the American Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC). Its managing director, Sarah Hirshland, confirmed this in an interview with Sports Examiner : the president of the body, Susanne Lyons (photo above), will leave office at the end of the year, at the end of a mandate that began in January 2019. Arrival as president of the USOPC to succeed Larry Probst , she will have served for twelve years on the board of directors of the Olympic and Paralympic organization, including four in the highest position. Two names are already circulating in the United States as potential candidates for his succession: Dexter Paine, the former president of the American Ski and Snowboard Federation, and Beth Brooke, a former high-ranking executive of the audit and consulting firm EY (Ernst & Young). Still according to Sarah Hirshland, the next president of the USOPC could become the third American member of the IOC, after Anita DeFrantz and David Haggerty, the president of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
