The Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC) is looking to the future. With a clearly stated objective: the year 2030. The body chaired by the Greek Spyros Capralos announces that it has suddenly approved the creation of its “ Strategic Agenda 2030 » and the implementation of its Code of Ethics. Unsurprisingly, the EOC roadmap for the next seven years is aligned with the recommendations and priorities of the IOC Agenda 2020+5. It was initially proposed by the executive committee of the continental organization, then led by one of its members, the former Serbian rower Djordje Visacki. As for the code of ethics, it was prepared by the commission of the same name of the EOC, composed of the Slovenian Maja Smrdu, the Austrian Martina Spreitzer-Kropiunik and the Finnish Juha Virtola, in cooperation with the IOC. It will apply from next year to EOC leaders, members of the executive committee and athlete support staff.
