The ski jumping facility falls behind schedule

Milan-Cortina 2026

Another delay in the preparation of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games. This time, it does not concern the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track, but the Val di Fiemme jumping hill. The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) announced that the equipment would not be ready for the Italian stage of the Ski Jumping World Cup, initially scheduled for January 11 and 12, 2025. The cause was a significant delay in the construction of the facility, delivery of which is now announced for the end of April 2025. Less than a year, therefore, from the Winter Games. The World Cup was to serve as a test for the Olympic events. It is canceled. Worrying? The FIS wants to be reassuring. Its race director, Sandro Pertile, explains: “The installation should be ready in April or May 2025, we have received a firm promise. We will host Grand Prix competitions during the summer of 2025 as part of our summer event series, in individual, men's teams and mixed teams. They will serve as tests before the Olympic Games. The facilities will also be open for training during the summer of 2025, allowing teams to train and test on site. »
