Let's go. The International World Games Association (IWGA) has officially launched the call for applications for the 2029 edition of the multisport event. The body announces in a press release that the files will first be analyzed and evaluated by its board of directors, before being submitted to the vote of the general assembly. According to the general director of the IWGA, several cities have already expressed an interest in hosting the World Games in 2029. To be selected, candidates must respect the three pillar values of the movement: excellence, sustainability and inclusion. As a reminder, the next edition of the World Games, initially scheduled for 2021 but postponed due to the health crisis, must be held this year, from July 7 to 17, in the American city of Birmingham, Alabama. It should bring together more than 3.600 athletes from around a hundred countries, with a program of 34 non-Olympic sports. The next edition, in 2025, has already been awarded to the Chinese city of Chengdu.
