The opposition appeals to the CAS

Ski

A new file on the offices of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). It looks complex. The court based in Lausanne announces that it has registered the appeal filed by four national ski federations against John Eliasch, the president of the international body (FIS). The plaintiffs are not second players in the world of skiing, since they are Austria, Germany, Croatia and Switzerland. The four federations are contesting the re-election of John Eliasch as president of the FIS on May 26 in Milan. They believe that the election was falsified and that its result should be annulled. In question, the presence on the ballot papers of a single name, that of John Eliasch, and therefore of a single option for voters. The billionaire of Swedish origin was re-elected at the last FIS congress, after a vote in which he received 70 of the 100 votes cast. But the election was marked by the rebellion of several countries, including the four plaintiffs, their representatives leaving the room at the time of the vote.
