Part of the veil was lifted on Tuesday, November 3, on the next ceremony of the “Sport Media Pearl Awards”, the first annual sports journalism trophies awarded by the AIPS. Following a jury meeting organized in Abu Dhabi, a selection of 85 nominees was made public, in the different categories. According to a press release from the AIPS, more than 700 files were received for this global competition reserved for professional sports journalists. Chaired by the Italian Gianni Merlo, the jury includes among its members the former Chinese basketball player Yao Ming and our AFP colleague, Vincent Amalvy. The “Sport Media Pearl Awards” ceremony will take place on December 15 in Abu Dhabi.
